Biography
Helene Munson is currently working on her second memoir :
Mother, Maestra, Me Healing Transgenerational Trauma with Indigenous Medicines her journey from discovering the traumatization of her mother as a child raised in Nazi Germany and WWII, to her upbringing in a culture of guilt and silence in the post-Nazi years, and healing its transgenerational burden with Ayahuasca, an indigenous medicine of the Amazon. Her first nonfiction book, 'Hitler's Boy Soldiers' part memoir and part WWII and Third Reich history was published by The History Press in the UK in October of 2021 and by The Experiment in the USA in May 2022. With a Chilean born father and a German mother, Helene grew up in Germany and Brazil. Shewas educated in the UK at the Universities of Edinburgh, London and Oxford Brookes. She has spent most of her adult life in New York and Berlin. She likes to travel, scuba dive and cuddle with her feline, rescue muse called Trotsky. Her family's surviving documents, photos and heirlooms in addition to her own travel mementos feature prominently in her writing not just in her books but also in published short stories. |
