Biography
Helene Munson is currently working on her second memoir on the topic of Healing Transgenerational Trauma with Indigenous Medicines.
It is her journey from discovering the traumatization of her mother as a child raised in Nazi Germany and WWII, to her upbringing in a culture of guilt and silence in the post-Nazi years, and healing its burden with the help of Shamans in Peru and Colombia. Her first nonfiction book, Hitler's Boy Soldiers part memoir and part WWII and Third Reich history was published by The History Press in the UK under the title Boy Soldiers in October of 2021 and by The Experiment in the USA in May 2022. The paper back edition The Feldafing Boys is coming out in 2024. A Czech language edition is also in the works. With a Chilean born father and a German mother, Helene grew up in Germany and Brazil. She was educated in the UK at the Universities of Edinburgh, London and Oxford Brookes. She has spent most of her adult life in New York and Berlin. She loves adventure travel and is at home on Long Island's East End. Her family's surviving documents, photos and heirlooms in addition to her own travel mementos feature prominently in her writing not just in her books but also in published short stories. |
