Helene Munson is currently working on her second memoir:
Healing Shadows a transformative story that explores the impact of a mother-daughter's intergenerational trauma and a healing journey that spans continents. The narrative follows a woman in her 60s as she embarks on a quest to understand and overcome the shadows of her mother's Nazi childhood. The journey takes her from the haunted memories of Germany to mystical healing places in South America, where she finds solace through the wisdom of shamans and their ancient plant medicines. Her first nonfiction book, Hitler's Boy Soldiers part memoir and part WWII and Third Reich history was published by The History Press in the UK under the title Boy Soldiers and by The Experiment in the USA. The paper back edition The Feldafing Boys came in 2024. A Czech language edition is in the works. Her family's surviving documents, photos and heirlooms in addition to her own travel mementos feature prominently in her writing not just in her books but also in published short stories. |
